Top 5 Tuesday – Books That Exceeded My Expectations

Happy Tuesday everybody!

I spent most of my day studying so I’m pretty beat, excuse me if I make any grammar mistakes! Bear with me!

A Top 5 Tuesday today, it’s been a while! This week the topic is top 5 books that exceeded my expectations.

Little Women (#1) (by Louisa May Alcott)

Like I’ve said before, I don’t think I would’ve read Little Women if it hadn’t been for my friends, and the new film. And I’m so glad I did!! It was a really beautiful and special story. Little Women definitely exceeded my expectations!

Flowers for Algernon (by Daniel Keyes)

I honestly knew so little about this book and it really surprised me. It was much deeper and more fascinating than I had expected it to be. A great read! (full review)

Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood (by Trevor Noah)

I will never, and I mean never, stop raving about this book. It’s just brilliant, so so good. You go into this not knowing much about Trevor Noah or not expecting much from an autobiography (like me) but you learn so much. I will always recommend this to everybody!

Autoboyography (by Christina Lauren)

I’m not going to lie, I knew I was probably going to like this book but I never expected to fall in love with it like I did. I don’t even know how to put this in a few words only, so here’s my full review!

The Kind Worth Killing (by Peter Swanson)

With this one, too, I knew I might enjoy it but oh boy, The Kind Worth Killing is so well done!! The multiple POVs and Swanson’s writing definitely exceeded my expectations. This has become one of my go-to recommendations if someone asks for a good mystery/thriller. (full review)

Have you read any of these? Are these on your TBR? What do you think? Let’s talk!
